This week MAPS students got to speak to Dr. Coleen Fogharty (MD and a family medicine physician) and Dr. Olga Selioutski(DO; neurology speacilist), doctors at URMC, and ask them questions on their two different degrees. A DO is Doctorate of Osteopathy while MD is a degree that focuses on Allopathic medicine. Our panelists gave great insights on the differences and similarities between obtaining and working with these two degrees(admittedly there were many more similarities than differences). Conversation topics ranged from the history of Osteopathy to advice about how to know if Medical School is the right path for you. Another week and another successful event!
