The Pre-med Experience
At our second GIM, we focused on The Premed Experience by touching on wellness, tutoring, talking to professors, failing, and extracurriculars. Every E-board member gave advice on their experiences throughout their undergraduate careers.
Isabella and Iltaff relayed their experiences with failing classes, and offered insight into the process both on personal and administrative levels. Toyo elaborated on the importance of fostering personal relationships with professors. Kadiatou and Diana talked about the importance of self-care and maintaining a realistic work-life balance. Veronica and Christophe talked about the importance of studying, the resources available to students, and making sure you seek help earlier rather than later. Josephine spoke on her experiences dealing with extracurriculars, and the importance of not overcommitting.
As the room came together at the end so everyone could ask questions, MAPS members interacted with one another and gave each other advice on how to succeed. This event exemplified our goal to not just be a pre-medical organization, but a pre-medical family.
