Short Bio: I am a first generation student, I was born in Guatemala and raised in NYC. What I enjoy doing the most when I am not in school or at work is reading novels, watching anime, kdramas and cooking. However, most of the time I am taking care of my younger brother, we tend to go outside and do different activities apart from our daily routine. I can be quite an introvert but once you get to know me I can be quite an extrovert. However, I can’t wait to meet new people this upcoming semester!
Why did you join MAPS?
The reason I joined MAPS was because I saw that pre-med is a stressful and vigorous path and can make one feel overwhelmed. MAPS showed me that it did not have to be that way, the resources and connections one makes allows one to see that they are not alone. MAPS also has a very inviting environment and you bond with other members. It makes you feel accompanied and not alone that there is always another person you can rely on and seek help from.
