Fatimah Al Dulaimee
Co-Programming Chair
Class of 2024
Major(s): Biology
Hometown: Rochester, NY
Short Bio: I’m an Arab-American and a first generation immigrant! For most of my Elementary School years I grew up in a little town in Babylon, Iraq- home of Hammurabi and the Code of Law. Culture is a big part of my identity so a lot of the things I enjoy doing in my free time revolve around classic arab entertainment: listening to arabic music along with watching TV shows and movies. I’m also a die-heart One Direction fan! I absolutely adore film photography, skateboarding, retail therapy, documentaries, buying plants and Dev Patel!
Why did you join MAPS?
Being pre-med can feel like a very lonely and difficult journey especially when you’re a first generation immigrant or college student. I felt like everyone around me knew what their next steps would be; what classes they’re gonna take, what internships they’ll apply to, and resources they’ll rely on. But I didn’t. MAPS opened a whole new door to opportunities and a little family where my struggles are acknowledged. I have made so many connections and gained so much knowledge from past events. I’m so thrilled for the new E-Board and can’t wait to meet new members (in person now! woot woot!) and organize future events!
