Teepa Al-Mosawi

Co-Secretary

Class of 2023
Major(s): Microbiology
Hometown: Rochester, NY
Short Bio: I am an Arab-American first-generation college student. I was born and raised in Rochester NY but my parents immigrated from Iraq. My hobbies are painting, watching food network, and shopping! I am very talkative and an extrovert, so meeting new people is something I am excited for this fall! I look forward to an amazing year filled with lots of learning experiences and great people!

Why did you join MAPS?
As an HEOP and ECO student, I joined MAPS because of the opportunities that I will not only be receiving, but giving to incoming students! I knew I wanted to be a member, but also an E-board member who will. Being a first-generation college student, I have experienced the hardships that come along with that. Coming into college requires very different habits than what some students, myself included, may have been used to doing in high school. However, through MAPS and the resources they’ve provided such as mentors, programs, internships, etc. I overcame several struggles and have also been able to take on leadership roles to pass it on to other students!
